As early as 1997, the Hong Kong Jockey Club, which has always attached great importance to the development of the welfare of the elderly, had foreseen the urgency of providing comprehensive care for people with dementia, and believed that it was necessary to provide them with diverse training, so it decided to fund the establishment of the "Jockey Club" The "Garden for Senior Citizens" provides suitable services and training for people with dementia, their families and colleagues in the industry, and invites the Chinese University of Hong Kong, which actively promotes the research and training of dementia in Hong Kong, to assist in the management. The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust Fund allocated a total of HK$81,230,000 to subsidize the renovation, purchase of furniture and equipment, and operating expenses for the first three years of the Sage Park.
