Company Overview
Our parent company, the Sumitomo Chemical Company Limited (SCC), was established in 1913 and continues to be one of Japan’s leading chemical companies.
Our predecessor entity Sumitomo Chemical Asia (SCA) was established in 1990. In 2006, SCA commenced operations as a sales, marketing and distribution-coordination center for petrochemicals produced by the Rabigh Refining & Petrochemicals Company (Petro Rabigh), a joint venture between SCC and Saudi Aramco.
In 1996, Sumitomo Chemical Singapore Pte Ltd (SCS) was incorporated as the pioneer supplier of Methyl Methacrylate as well as a market leader of IT-Related Chemicals and Health & Crop Science products in the South East Asian Market.
Sumitomo Chemical (Asia Pacific) Pte Ltd (SCAP) was then established in 2013 as the Regional Headquarters of the SCC Group for the Asia Pacific region.
As of 1st April 2017, SCA, SCS and SCAP have merged into one company under the name of Sumitomo Chemical Asia Pte Ltd (SCA). Today, SCA is the regional headquarters of the SCC Group for Asia Pacific, offering our customers a diverse range of products from Petrochemicals & Plastics, IT-Related Chemicals, Energy & Functional Materials and Health & Crop Science products.
