PT Sasa Inti adalah perusahaan pertama yang memproduksi MSG di Indonesia, Nama Sasa sendiri merupakan kependekan dari ""Sari Rasa"" dimana diterjemahkan sebagai sari dari rasa dan gambaran dari fokus utama bagi perusahaan. Faktanya, untuk kebanyakan orang Indonesia, Sasa berarti MSG penguat rasa, bagian bumbu dapur yang sangat diperlukan.
PT Sasa Inti didirikan oleh Rodamas pada tahun 1968, Sasa merupakan perusahaan MSG pertama di Indonesia yang bertumbuh menjadi merek yang memimpin pasar untuk pasar lokal MSG. Dalam menangapi pertumbuhan permintaan ini, operasional yang terpadu guna memproduksi Glutamic Acid dan MSG didirikan tahun 1973 dengan nama Sasa Inti.
