Mencast Group is a Singapore-based marine maintenance, repair and overhaul ("Marine MRO") provider comprising Marine, Offshore & Engineering and Energy Services. As an industry leader in sterngear equipment manufacturing and servicing, the Group specializes in the provision of propeller and sterngear products and services for a wide range of vessels catering to customers worldwide in the Marine and Offshore Oil and Gas industries. Starting from humble beginnings in a rented workshop on Choa Chu Kang Road, the Group's main business activities were centred on the repair, refurbishment and manufacture of marine propellers, shaftings and bushings for fishing and bum boats from Singapore and West Malaysia. In 1993, the Group expanded its operations into the manufacture, repair and refurbishment of sterngear equipment for tugboats, ferries and standby vessels, and by 2001, it had extended its vertically integrated capabilities to provide a full range of sterngear equipment and services for local and regional shipyards and ship owners. Riding on the buoyant growth in the shipbuilding, repair and maintenance industries, Mencast further expanded its production capacity in 2002, and moved its operations to its present premises in Tuas View Circuit. One of the first sterngear equipment manufacturers in Singapore to obtain the ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System, Mencast was the proud recipient of the Singapore SME 500 award in 2005 and 2006, and, in 2008, was listed on Singapore's SGX Catalist.
